US man lived with mother's dead body

A man in the United States has been arrested after a rancid stench led police to discover he was living with his mother's corpse.

Christopher Aguilar continued to stay at the house even while the body of his deceased mother Carmelita, 47, decomposed in a bath tub in their Tucson, Arizona, home, the Arizona Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old has been charged with abandoning and concealing a body after police made the grim discovery on Tuesday.
Neighbours had complained of the overpowering stench.
It is not yet known how long the woman was dead but investigators said the body was in such an advanced state of decomposition they could not initially determine the its gender.
Police are still investigating if Mr Aguilar was involved in his mother's death.
"It's one unusual circumstance that piques our interest and causes us to look a little more into this incident," Sergeant Maria Hawke said.
"We're going to examine any evidence that may be present at the scene where the body is found or the potential scene where a person may have been killed," Hawke added.
A neighbour told reporters that he had heard the mother and son arguing a few time in the past.
