What a show! Sexy, Sultry and Hotter than Hell!Friday, May 4, 2012
Kicks out non stop horror comedy which can be enjoyed on so many levels.
Presented by "Kitty Rock" this show was honestly the best thing I have ever seen in this Country. As you all know I have been seeing/reviewing/promoting and even performing in events in Australia but this one not only tops the cake but even lets you eat it too. The delightful humor and the suttle horror has only fed my blood-thirsty beast inside me and makes me screaming for more!
The girls alone are worth the watch, I swear that they have one amazing job that I would take-up in a heartbeat, "Want to dance around in intimates to the Nightmare on Elm street soundtrack while being artfully attacked by Freddy Kruger"?
Hell, That sounds like my high school years on a typical weekend,.. well ok.. without Freddy.
On top of an amazing show, the whole night was fun to hang around a club with Robert Englund, Ken Sagoes, Lisa Wilcox and John Jarratt (Wolf Creek) in Australia! Normally I spend the night at a Horror convention or show in L.A and get a free backstage or greenroom pass to hang out at the party. But this time I'm in Australia at a pre-show party hanging out with Americans like a typical average night just trying to calm people down from a heart attack.
Special Guests:
This is something I would never have thought to see. Everyone who was a V.I.P member of "Shock Horror" and paid the $500 could see the celebrities, but you know that they walked out the boundaries and you could see/talk and take photos with them for free. You didn't have to pay the $500. In America $500 for a convention gets you 3 days of entry, a special party with a free drink and you can see over 50 celebrities along with so many goodies. In Australia you pay $500 to see 4 celebrities that people off the street can just walk in and see for free anyway.
I was just glad that I hanged out with Ken and Lisa twice in the States so it was fun to be relaxed, say hello and welcome them to this country instead of the other way around. Robert threw out 3 copies of Heather's "Never Sleep Again" DVD and introduced the show.
The Venue:
The place could not have been better, with a vast variety of themed cocktails, one hell of a dance floor and more vintage Tiki based music than the 60's! The place was wonderfully decorated, there was enough room for both the show and the crowd, and the technical aspects of the event went well. Everyone was so happy to be there that there wasn't even a bad apple in the bunch to stop anybody from having fun at this underground spicy show.
The Future of Goregasm?
To be honest there could be improvements, by that I only mean that it can go longer and that they do more shows. They have the potential to go further with this and I hope to see it blast off into something that this country doesn't have. We don't have anything like this, we don't get musicals from "Re-animator," "Evil Dead", or "Toxic Avenger", we need this. We Want this. A Nightmare on elm Street show is something that can put this country on the map, get more American celebrities to visit and highlight out arts. This is Melbourne after all.
I will keep you all posted on future events to make sure that you never miss out on seeing this show. Being the first show I honestly hope that it is not the last. All I can say is that is that's purely breathtaking.
Highlights of the Show:
- The Two girls at the beginning of the show (The Divines) with The sultry topless nightmare dance opened the act both perfectly and timelessly.
- The Character of John Saxon/Heater's Father - the comedy aspects of this went thorough the roof!
- The opening scene with the Freddy's First Kill was erotically tantalizing and was performed so well that they managed to withhold the dirty Smut and focus on the artistic horror viewpoint.
- The hall-monitor girl with "No running in the halls" was an essential character that hilariously set the scene cut.
- A powerful dance-off Fight sequence between 'Nancy' and 'Freddy'.
- An over-the-top performance from the Character of Nancy's mother had everyone in stitches.
- The Incredible Soundtrack and background mix that set the mood like no other music could
Video:
I managed to video the majority of the event, I only cut out some scenes from the doctor part and the pre-show Dance to fit. It was over 6 GB in HD, so Youtube has reduced the quality and made me split it into two because of copyright reasons.. Still nearly half an hour of footage - It's worth the watch. When I can get the entire movie up I will post that too. All rights belong to the performers and Kitty Rock, I was just the Cameraman, editor and producer- front-row center.
Enjoy it, Full screen and High Definition!
Seriously if you have the chance to: See this show, I will scream it into your Blood-Thirsty brain until you do, otherwise you will regret missing out on Australia's best Horror show!
Get more our of life: Go out to a show!
