"GOBLIN"
There are few more hallowed names in the prog rock pantheon than enigmatic Italian soundtrack kings, Goblin.
Formed back in 1972, Goblin are a unique Italian progressive rock band who pursued an intriguingly unorthodox career path, recording the majority of their music for horror film soundtracks, many with director Dario Argento. Internationally they are probably best known for their work on Dawn of the Dead (the sequel to Night of the Living Dead); however they are also well known for their work on Suspiria and Profondo Rosso.
A driving force for radicalism, both in musical form and political content, Goblin are here exclusivley for Melbourne Music Week 2012.

CONCERT GRABS
Now for the best bits! I was lucky enough, or should I say that you are lucky enough that I was once again front row-center, able to catch every moment of this incredible show and even touch the feet of the performers. However, they had very strict policies on cameras, but non-the-less I was able to get an incredible amount of goodies for you to enjoy. I have 30 minutes of audio from both of the first two bands ( "The Night Terrors" & "Thematica, feat. members of "Midnight Juggernauts") highlight footage, and photos.
Since "GOBLIN" was of-course the main event, I have full audio from the entire concert for your listening pleasure! Photos, Original set-list, video highlights and I was even able to grab a sticker form the main power board on stage with the words (11/4 (2) GOBLIN).
I also picked up some merchandise and a few CD's, so yes, I will upload one just for you.
But please support the original artitst by actually going out and buying their work.

The Grand Organ feat. Goblin LIVE recordings
This mighty and super RARE download comes in four parts:
01. Intro/crowd
02. Night Terrors
03. Thematica
04. Goblin
Size:125.26MB
Format: mp3.
There is around half an hour of both Two bands: Night Terrors and Thematica, and basically the entire Goblin concert. It only cuts out a few seconds for me to re-load another battery. There was one technical issue where the band kept looping a bar beat until the technical issue could be fixed, my camera was also turned off for that part otherwise I couldn't be able to grab the "Deep Red" theme-song. This
is the only one in the world..I was the only person there sneeking in a
camera and being front row center for the entire four and a half hours
of my presents in the Town Hall Theater. You can even hear me say "Touchy!" at the end when I was grabbing clothing, shaking hands and Petting shoes of every band member on stage. ENJOY!!

"GOBLIN" SET LIST
I managed to grab this from a crew member..It's really easy - you just jump up and down saying "please, please please!", with enough cleavage hanging out, and no doubt you will win the prize of a Set-list in a crowd of many yelling out for it.

GIG REVIEW
"The Night Terrors"
The Night Terrors + Goblin, Melbourne Music Week 21/11/12"The Night Terrors"
The Night Terrors are super excited to announce "we will be playing with Italian prog-horror legends Goblin on Wednesday 21st of November at the Melbourne Town Hall. We’ll be performing a brand new composition written exclusively for the Town Hall’s Grand Pipe Organ as part of Melbourne Music Week 2012.
With the most psychedelic/horrific tunes ever to be played in Melbourne comes the amazing "Night Terrors". Usually I spent the whole time for the opening bands (especially the first one) talking, making jokes and taking random photos. But this time I was so in-tuned with the beats being spun and whaled out I had to close my eyes, hold into the stage and feel the music flow through my entire body.
The Crowd-pleasing moment was when the last song was played, it spun out an old-school rock horror beat that had the crowd wired for the rest of the night.
Just watching the masters at work playing on of the most bizarre instruments I have ever seen in my life, I was constantly in a state of awe.
I was so glad that they sold a lot of merchandise, I managed to pick up their latest album for only $5! It was well worth every cent, but unfortunately it didn't make it as the feature album on the way home, only because the local independent radio station played GOBLIN for the long drive home so I was very happily entertained until my ass got in the front door of my place.
If these guys ever play near your area, check them out.. the experience is just mind-blowing.

"Thematica",
feat. members of "Midnight Juggernauts"
With an eight-piece wonder band playing all of the classic hits on Melbourne's largest instrument, The Grand Organ churned out such mighty music that was so God-Like and powerful in every sense.
"A Clockwork Orange", "Star Wars", "Running Man", "Midnight Express", "007 James Bond" and "The Exorcist" to name a few of the raw magnetic theme tunes that were not only played but waved into your very soul.
The crowd pleasing moment was when the "Mos Eisley Cantina" song from Star Wars pooped out, with a rock formation near the end it drove the crowd wild. As for me, honestly I could not help but to love and appreciate every note swimming in the air when "2001: A Space Oddesy" theme song was played. With every note on key, and in-tune and the Mighty Organ booming in the Hall, It was a Mighty Music Epiphany that I will cherish in my brain forever.
The beating of the drums and clashing of the giant symbols could only make my passion and love for music grow larger. Traversing Phillip Glass, John Carpenter and beyond, Thematica re-imagined these artists' significant film scores on a large scale. Not only did the music engulf the air, but these was a visual effect by the light show being projected onto the actual mighty Organ itself! With introductory movie quotes from each film and black and white film clips it was easy to guess what music is from which movie and to get even more excited to hear a quote and jump up and down with excitement and another magnificent tune is played.
Although it's was a one- time show and special performers, if they ever came out again I would once more be front row center and ready to let the music drift me away into a listening euphoria.

"Goblin"
For the very first time in AUSTRALIA, All the way from another part of the world to Melbourne, came the famous and one of my very highly respected and favorite bands: "Goblin", employing the Grand Organ performing a set of their most revered soundtrack work and feature band work. Seeing anything LIVE, of-course is a lifetime experience in itself, but GOBLIN, the creators of "The Gonk", and every background score in your favorite Italian Horror that gave you nightmares as a child and shocked your very soul. No words, pictures of even video could capture the magic and wonder being played out on stage for a one-night only SOLD OUT event.
I could honeslty write for hours about how much an amazing time I had, my attitude in the hot long taffic jam on the way to the show and the ability to spend a panic mode of time searching for a parking spot in the middle of Melbourne City was at the very least in that "I don't know if it was worth getting these tickets" feeling. But that quickly got blown out of me the second I walked up the marble stars and into the Magnificent Melbourne Town Hall, and only made me want to punch my former self several times in the face..very hard once the band Members of Goblin come on stage.
The energy from the crowd was just as large as being squashed front-row center at "Metallica", but more appreciative for the fine tunes being played. It was as if everyone wanted to lose themselves for the night, and with the help of the amazing Goblin, it was very easy for everyone to do so.
Impressed would only be an understatement of the entire audiences feelings for the evening, and entertaining could only begin to explain who these guys really are.
The waiting line to get in and stress of being front row-centre for the whole night was worth it. It is something that I would re-live again and again at any cost. This night was just amazing, and I only hope that a World Tour or something of the sorts come about so the rest of the world can enjoy the earth-shattering and incredible sounds of Gobin.
Awe-inspiring, overwhelming and chilling, this is how the music of Goblin was meant to be heard.
