Judas Priest - Blood red Skies
Another Classic, Released in 1988 by Columbia, from the album "Ram it down"

2011: Must -See Horror Films
TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL
is a hilariously gory, good-spirited horror comedy, doing for killer rednecks what Shaun of the Dead did for zombies.
Why? Because Horror and comedy are always a good mix, if its done right. And hey, who don't like hicksploitation? This looks like its worth the watch.
Aussie release: Sorry Australia, but just like "hobo with a Shotgun" we can only see this in film festivals and are very limited. Sydney has been sold out.

FINAL DESTINATION 5
The second of the “Final Destination” films to be shot in 3-D, Final Destination 5 is being directed by Steve Quale, marking his major feature film directorial debut.

Why? It is shot in 3D, and even if you haven't seen the others, if you like gore, and the intense wait of the kill, then why not? It is also an all-star cast and will be the number one 3d horror for the year.
Aussie Release: Aussies will have to wait till the end of August to the 2nd of September for its release.

THE WARD
In John Carpenter’s The Ward, Kristen, a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged, and held against her will in a remote ward of a Psychiatric Hospital.

Why? It is John Carpenter, and probably the good kind of film tat you can have to chicks sleepovers. So long as its not one of those she is crazy the whole time, the whole thing is just a dream, she is the killer, or you are crazy and didn't see anything kind of film- it will be good. even if not good enough to pay the $25 to see in the cinemas, it will be worth hiring it at your local movie store.

APOLLO 18
December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense.  What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission.
Why? Another First-person lost footage film. These are worth the watch for curiosity, and just shits and giggles if you find out that the film is really bad. Aussies will have a special one day only screening in December 1 2011, through Hoyts in one selected cinema if you miss out on the release for this year.

Undecided to get excited about
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D
The film is said to indeed be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original film which follows Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance.
Why? I'm not sure what to expect. I loved the original, and yes after time even, part 2, & 3. I hate "Next Generation" because the acting was beyond terrible. The remake However
"Texas chainsaw massacre (2003)" was good to see,  I loved it in the cinema and thought it was original enough not to destroy the classic, However the "Texas chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)" was a total disaster, they not only bring shame to the original, but they just fucked up the last re-make and added so many back-stories that were not in continuity or made any sense. So what I am to think of this one? I really don't know. Its only 50/50, but of-course I cannot say anything until I have seen it with an open mind. I suppose the 3D thing is enough to see it, but that's another reason not to, because they know: If you make it 3D: they will come.

ATROCIOUS
Why? Its another film in the style of "The Blair Witch Project", "Clover-field" etc. So that is a good point, I love those shaky camera, fist-person films even if they are shitty. I Didn't care much for "Paranormal Activity", but yeah, I will still go out to the cinemas and see every one made with an open mind- to me they make a good excuse to go to the cinemas and worth it for the curiosity. However this film being in another language and all might be all little hard to follow.  It might get a little tedious to read the whole film, and keep your eye on everything that moves while having the ability not to get an eye-strain. This has a 50/50 chance of making it to every cinema in Australia, so it might be worth seeing, but I'm still undecided.

DONT BE AFFRAID OF THE DARK
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” follows Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring.
Why?  The story sounds so promising, but from the trailer it looks like another little girl vs. monster story with a twist in the end that is supposed to be too horrific Just like "Dark Water". of "The Grudge". We have all see this kind of thing before. And no-doubt will have the camera effects such as cgi faces jumping out in-front of you, or pitch back darkness with a light shinning on a face with a big boom noise. we should be used to these by now, but if the story is original enough, it might be worth the watch.

And of-course the films that I would
Rather poke my eyes out with a rusty fork Than See:
FRIGHT NIGHT
Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic. With Colin Farrell and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
Why? Because the original should stay original, even if you didn't like it. There is no point in killing a classic for something this bad! How many blondes in shorts and boots will we see? I honestly doubt that they can get a vampire to look anything better than the original, Wait! Yeap, its a dorky dweeb that is so orgrishly ugly he could only drink the blood from ugly gay guys with no preference at all. -Vampisexual Anyone?

THE THING
The shape-shifting creature, accidentally unleashed at this marooned colony, has the ability to turn itself into a perfect replica of any living being. The thing serves as a prelude to John Carpenter's classic 1982 film of the same name.
Why? John Carpenter's "The Thing" is one of the BEST ever Re-makes. That's right, its a re-make of yet another original "The Thing from another world". I'm not against re-makes, But what is this? Another -"Last man on earth"/"Omega Man"/"I am Legend" type of thing happening again? How many times do you have to re-make a film? If you get it right- Don't ruin it by adding a shitty college cgi twist to it and making it a 2-star Hollywood flop. As far as I am concerned John Carpenter did one amazing job, and to me that will be "The Thing" to remember, buy in every format and pass down to generations. This really comes down to that saying: If It aint Broke:don't Fix it!

PIRANHA 3DD
The piranha’s this time make their way into swimming pools, pipes, plumping and such at a newly opened waterpark named “Wilderness Waters”! The race is on to save the town from these flesh-eating creatures that are leaving a bloodbath in their wake.

Why? Because the first one was so bad, I won't even see it for the hell of it. The original film was not the best, the remake was just a disaster. Seriously..guys! If you want to see a sexy film but are too afraid to get a porno- grow some balls and see a fucking porno! At least you can see sex in it, and not just a shitty titty college committy piece of shit with no storyline and letting the 3D effects fuck you over because it wasn't shot in 3D. I can only wonder how many of these Piranha films they will make, then again how many drunk idiots, and Yahoo-ing teenage boys are there?- Yeah, we are in trouble.

SHARK NIGHT3D
There is a killer shark in the lake. When attempts to skip town fail, one by one, these college kids — or the ones that are left — will have to battle their enemies head on in order to survive.
Why? Because first of all great white sharks cannot survive in a lake, even if there is a radiation leak. They then add another killer in the film because the shark isn't scary enough. "college titty committee" horrors do not make you feel sorry for people dying, have any character development or real story-lines. We have all had enough of "Jaws" knockoffs, and no more should be made, let along a piranha 3D knock off in 3D. Please! why can't they make a 3D film about college people getting laid: make it with lots of titties, not a lot of script and just forget the horror. That way you can separate the audience and make everyone happy.

New Releases
This week (from Wednesday) Director Jason Eisener's "HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN" is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray! Fans of Grindhouse will remember Hobo with a Shotgun as one of the “fake” trailers placed within the double feature. Like Machete, this title found its way to the big screen (albeit in limited release) and is now on DVD and Blu-ray.
For a movie that started as a 2-minute trailer, the bonus features are pleasantly deep. There is a great timeline of materials that follow the film from its inception including:

  • Shotgun Mode, Two Commentary Tracks
  • More Blood, More Heart: The Making of Hobo with a Shotgun
  • Deleted Scenes, Alternate Ending, Camera Test Reel, Fangoria Interviews
  • HDNet: A Look at Hobo with a Shotgun, Grindhouse Trailer Contest Winner, Theatrical Trailers & Canadian TV Spots
Next Week:

Band of the Month
It's time for the Monthly look at one great Band. July is welcome to have on board:
GIRLSCHOOL
.

Girlschool are a British heavy metal band originating out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene in 1978 and frequently associated with contemporaries Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band, still active after more than 30 years.Only the American all-female rock band "The Donnas" publicly acknowledged the influence of Girlschool on their music.
Kim McAuliffe (Vocals/Guitar), Enid Williams (Vocals/Bass/), Kelly Johnson/Jackie Chambers (Lead Guitar), Denise Dufort (Drums). Remember to support artist and purchase original recordings.
To celebrate this random pic, we give you the Girlschool Collection. It is a two-part Download for a 2-CD compilation. Its great if you want to get into them, and know what they are all about, after-all they are the longest running female heavy Metal Band and even had three punk-tinged metal albums in the 80's.

Must See Movie of the week
If you want to see something that's not highly seen in movie rental stores, and something not to miss out on.
Today's movie is:   Killer Workout (1987) aka Aerobi-cide
PLOT:
Two years ago, a young woman named Valerie was burned after entering a tanning salon. Now, her twin sister, Rhonda runs a local gym where all of a sudden, people are being murdered.

 BASICS:
To sum it up in a nutshell: An 80's Slasher in a Gym. But I couldn't tell you everything in just that little quote, maybe I could with: "See Baby,  its like I'm beta and your VHS". Hey, if you love the 80's, typical slashers, or you just love girls working-out this jem is for you. Hell! its got something for everyone, It took me until the second viewing to love it, and when I got my hands on the soundtrack, I knew that this was a mix for pure Gold! Lucky for you, The Killer Workout/Aerobi-cide soundtrack is this weeks Download!
"The Aussie Pre-Cert VHS is an average of $90"
This film has been knocked off for its "death in a tanning bed" from films such as: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005) and Final Destination 3 (2006). The dvd release is hard to get in stores and will never be brought out on Blu-ray. I'll be holding onto my Aussie pre-cert for a while considering it was so hard to find and really a small fortune to buy online, if you are going to but a dvd, just make sure its not a vhs rip. This really has the ability to make you wonder how many other films are like this and have disappeared in history. I guess you can only spend so many hours in you lifetime sorting through many lost vhs tapes from back-lot closed-down video stores across the country and sorting through the thousands.
"This film is very popular in France.. and most teenage boys minds"
The best part about this film is the soundtrack. Why could not this ever be released? It as if Miami Vice had a party at a gym and no! ex-lax, you weren't invited. If you love b-grade films with hot babes constantly wearing workout gear and montages of Jane Fonda moves-then this is for you. If you are a fan of classic cheese then this might just be what you are looking for
-  So go and see it!
If you like this, try seeing:
Death Spa (1990)

Its that time again for a great look on what the internet has to offer.
Looks Like I saved the best for last: Enjoy:)
