The Worst Album Launch + Slick 46 + The Boots + Stranglehold

The crowd alone is worth the Trip!
Opening the night will be Stranghold, who are a female fronted punk band with a raw and loud live sound heavily influenced by 76 punk and uk 82 bands. They will be followed by the Boots who play a loud snotty old school style punk rock. They may be the most under appreciated band around and they will be playing there classics for the last time after hanging around the scene like a bad smell for the last 10 years. Then Slick 46, ...who are also veterans and legends of the Melbourne punk scene. Slick are a working class street punk band with old school influences with songs that are filled with big guitar riffs and sing a long choruses. Finishing the night off will be the Worst, playing there brand of hardcore punk rock and roll. They formed in 2001 and have since shared the stage with punk giants the Exploited, Anti-Nowhere League and D.O.A. After 10 long years they finally launch their debut album "Too Fast for Life".

Friday, March 11 · 8:30pm - 11:30pm The Evelyn Hotel
Stranglehold
Lead by a chick with awesome hair and a voice that somewhat resembles Wendy O. Williams - These guys know how to rock. I'm very happy that I manged to get there early to hear them, and also very lucky to get a free cd signed by the whole band. This is how awesome these guys are. They are even cool enough to have cds, 3 types of patches, and pins for sale - That's real promoting. I always love a punk band lead by a chick, but these guys are something different so Seriously if you get a chance to see them I highly recommend it.
Favorite Song: Never Hold Me Back
The Boots
Really is a Shame that I was their last gig, and even more of a shame that I missed out on them for all these years. Able to call the audience cunts and make stage-diving onto two people fun. Only wish they had cd's to buy there, I would have stocked up.I even jumped up on stage to yell out "eat my fucking shit- You Cunt!"
Favorite song: Dirty Old Man
Slick 46
Sick 46 managed to pump out some great tunes, and promoted their music well with having CD discography's for sale and even vinyl, free stickers and advertizement for their next gig and album launch, that's love for music. They were all cool enough to sign a cd and were really happy to have a new fan, with this much devotion its worth seeing them again, we even had a Special guest band member who sang a song never played live before.
favorite Song: Spotlight
 The Worst
The worst is yet to come, they saved the worst for last. These guys is what everyone was there for, and the pit was heavy, pogo, punk, sweat and oi's were not spared. They had both albums for sale, patches, pins, posters, t-shirts and free stickers. They were also awesome enough to sign an album for me. These guys know their stuff, I just loved putting on their albums on the drive home and even making traffic jams fun with next drivers head-banging and rocking out. Melbourne really is the best state for music and when we have gems like this one-There is no reason why you can't see them and jump up on the stage with them, or at the least buy their music.
Favorite Song: Poor Mans porn
