FRIDAY-FRIBYAR-FUNDAY

SONG OF THE WEEK

Motorhead - Ace of spades
Classic that keeps getting put in movies, trailers and was amazing to see Live and not to mention on "The young Ones". straight from the 1980 album - Ace of Spades.

John Waters is coming Down Under!
Brilliantly entertaining filmmaker, writer and shock auteur supreme, John Waters is coming to Australia to perform live this October, with his deviously funny one-man show This Filthy World
In this rapid-fire monologue celebrating his joyously bad taste, Waters will regale with stories about his career from the Underground to Hollywood. This Filthy World celebrates the film career and obsessive tastes of the man William Burroughs once called "The Pope of Trash". Focusing on Waters' early artistic influences, his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy and the extremes of the contemporary art world, this joyously devious performance elevates all that is trashy in life into a call-to-arms to filth-followers everywhere.
Waters is America's royal raconteur and director of cult film classics such as Pink Flamingos starring Divine, Hairspray, Cry Baby starring Johhny Depp and Serial Mom starring Kathleen Turner and Polyester.

You want something rare? How about Tuesday Knights album with "Out of control"?
This was ripped from a cassette, as the only copy I could find and took me 11 years to get one. Even when I met her she has never seen a copy and only had her single on CD for sale and it looked like a home-made disk, This is the clearest version you will get your hands on.

Must See Movie of the week
If you want to see something that's not highly seen in movie rental stores, and something not to miss out on.
Today's movie is:   Fortress (1992)
"Yeah, the Aussie move cover is so much better, but I have to keep the clammy VHS just for the artwork"
PLOT:
A futuristic prison movie. Protagonist and wife are nabbed at a future US emigration point with an illegal baby during population control. The resulting prison experience is the subject of the movie. The prison is a futuristic one run by a private corporation bent on mind control in various ways.
"That's right, its my Cornbread"
 BASICS:
The year is 2017. John Brennick and his wife Karen are trying to escape from the iron fist of America, because they have the nerve to conceive a second child when the government only allows one per family. Caught and tried for their crime, they are sent to the Fortress, which is a three level prison with high-tech torture and mind-control. This film has it all -romance, action, violence, and one amazing cast to back it all up. Although this is low-budget, it is still something to see. I absolutely Love Prison films, and believe it or not, this one is on the top 10. Its originality is unlike any other prison film. They might have got the future dates wrong, but honestly what film hasn't? Jeffery combs plays one amazing role as an explosive technician geek, who once again proves that he is a man of many faces. I love the fight that the couple have to endure just to be together, and the psychedelic  dream/mind control that John has to fight to keep his sanity, and survive. Each Prisoner is implanted with an "Intestinator" a device designed to inflict severe pain or death for any violation of the prison rules. Fortress is a hell-hole, built to hold anything..except an innocent man.

"Luckily, It is available on DVD"
"The cast alone is worth the watch"

According to an interview with director Stuart Gordon, Arnold Schwarzenegger was to star as John Brennick, for Arnold was a big fan of "The Re-Animator" which Arnold's stunt-double, Peter Kent was a cast member.

Set-list:

Heretic
Legion

virus
Terra
Into the Pit
Final Weapon
Ballistic

Hardcore and Unstoppable! There is a reason why had to see this band, yet again only after one week, and being the opening act for the night they managed to draw in a crowd and get the headbangers rocking! Harlott manage to promote themselves really well by having t-shirts and albums for sale, but still manage to support other bands in the process. I seriously want "Into the pit" as this blogs theme song, it stands for everything that we love- music that rocks! I manged to get some video highlights for the night, but my new camera isn't death metal proof, and sadly the microphone in it just couldn't take the intensity, still it's worth the watch just to see such tallent. The band was nice enough to sign my album for me, which now gets played loud and proud! and for only $5, it is worth every cent.

If you want a night out to rock, you can check out one of their Next gigs on Friday 19th of August with the "Enforce" tour 2011 at the Prague in Melbourne with – Demolition and the Black Plague.
And if theses guys ever play in your local area be sure to check them out!

Keeping true to the Blood Thirsty Beast inside me, I am going to post up the biggest and therefore Best Nightmare on elm Street Download ever. I have been searching for years and through many albums, vinyl rips and imports I finally can make the biggest compilation of music from the Nightmare on Elm Street Films. The classic ones (part 1-6). I'm not talking about the scores that you can easily get in stores, I'm talking about every rock, credit, love and rare track in each film that are not from the store-bought soundtrack plus special bonus tracks. This was a journey starting from when I was 17, watching these movies at least 8 times a week on the smallest T.V on the poorest vhs copy pausing the screen trying to write down song names and searching in every record bin. -Now That's Dedication!. Now with the help of technology and being such a dork, I can finally give the world the most rockin' &

Must See Movie of the week
If you want to see something that's not highly seen in movie rental stores, and something not to miss out on.
Today's movie is:   Castle Freak (1995)
PLOT:
A troubled couple and their blind daughter come to Italy to visit a 12th Century castle they've inherited. Soon they are plagued by unexplained noises, mysteriously broken objects, and the daughter's claims of an unknown nocturnal visitor to her bedroom.
"Jeffery's acting in this is so talented that it puts everyone else in the film to shame "

 BASICS:
For the first Full Moon film to be released outside of Paramount, this is not a typical Monster film. A broken family move into a castle only to have their lives turned upside-down again, with a blind daughter a dark past, a castle freak and drunk rage -this can only be a mix for a great film.
Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton are together again but this time in a film like no other. Castle Freak has so much depth and drama that as the film progress more insight of the family life develops. It is just a shame that the Movie poster/cover has a picture of the actual castle freak but it still doesn't ruin it. Mind you the make-up on the freak is nothing to turn away from, its hard to believe that there is somebody under it all. Jeffery Combs performance is so talented that after I saw this film I had to put him on my best actors ever list. Nobody else could put on such a performance in this movie that it leaves you frustrated that there was never an award for this, or that his name is not on the walk of fame.  His character is a distraught husband (John Reilly) with a dark past trying to patch things up again. After being accused of destroying the family he breaks down several times, has anger outbursts and even goes on a drunken spree. Several Killings take place in the film and in order to clear his name of the killings, John sets out to find out what is lurking about the house. The frustration and anger really boils as nobody believes him.
If you are a fan of any Full moon film, Jeffery Combs film or Stewart Gordon masterpiece then this movie is for you. If you have never herd of any of these things and see this film- you will be tempted to log on to fullmonndirect and spend a small fortune. Or at least see other Jeffery combs overacting talent overload roles.
Triva: The castle used in the film is an actual Italian castle owned by the president of Full Moon Pictures, the distribution company.
When I met Jeffery Combs in 2010,  he was explaining the connection between the character he played (John Reilly) and the castle freak, he was very emotional about it and felt very strongly about the characters past, as if he really lived that life. I suppose in some sense- he did.  This is how deep and in-depth he is, and this is why I cannot get enough of him.
"I'm not drunk..my wife just doesn't understand me"

This film is weirdly great, and totally unappreciated. Stewart Gordon really had something going on with this film. Its not just a typical 'monster under the stairs' type film. It has charter development splitting from the sides and talented over-acting that is something no to miss out on
-  So go and see it!
