Why Australia will Never see This Game..ever
In February 2011, the game was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board due to "violence that exceeds strong in impact".Warner Bros. unsuccessfully appealed the decision to the Classification Review Board, who ruled "the impact of the violence in Mortal Kombat is higher than strong and thus could not be accommodated within the MA15+ classification".The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service lists the game as a prohibited item. The Australian Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O'Connor has asked to be briefed on the Mortal Kombat decision, citing "public disquiet on the issue".What This Means:
- You cannot Import This Game into Australia, and it is against the Law to even try.
- The Public Cannot know about this, and are not allowed to bring it up
-Warner Brothers tried but failed to convince the government that the game is not that bad.
- The Australian government is run in stubborn Nazi style where everyone yells at each other like whinnying children, so it pretty much is set in stone and you are not allowed to talk about it any further.
Who is to blame?
The Australian Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O'Connor.
"This is the faggy face of future freedom"
Past Torture
On December 6, 2010 Call of duty 2 was going to have an R 18+ rating to it, so only adults could purchase it. The move can only go ahead if all State and Territory attorneys-general agree and Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor has put pressure on WA to accept the move.
He (Brendan) released a poll on December 5 2010 showing 84 per cent of West Australians wanted the classification. But WA Attorney-General Christian Porter is being lobbied by MPs to reject the R18+ classification. Mr O'Connor said games currently refused MA15+ classification would not be automatically available under the new regime. They would still be banned if they did not meet R18+ guidelines.

First of all, I honestly do not believe that 84% of Western Australia even cares about this game enough to side with such an asshole. And besides which, why wouldn't you Poll Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane - the big cities that actually play games and are the main purchases of such entertainment. So this guy makes up Polls, tries to push over another politician and then pretty much Banns the entire Game from the whole country if he doesn't believe it to be rated R 18+, but Asshole!- It makes the MA15+ code, why change it to some tight Irish-Amish fake rating and then ban it anyway if you don't get your tantrum way?

O'Connor: Banned games "unlikely" to make R18+ cut
By Laura Parker, GameSpot AU Posted Mar 22, 2011 3:42 pm AEST
Federal Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor tells GameSpot it's unlikely that currently banned games will be reclassified even if an R18+ classification is introduced; remains hopeful that state and territories can reach a unanimous vote in support of R18+ at July's SCAG meeting.
But really, Are Violent Video Games even bad?
First of all they already have a rating of MA15+, so no, little Timmy of 8 years old should not play this game, and will not be allowed to buy it in stores. This is another debate of stuck up "old-ways" that people don't want to be guilty of any events happening where we raise hell-raisers because we neglect them too much. We all love violence, we are compelled to watch the news, and love reading about serial Killers. It is human Nature to love it. Just look at the Romans, ancient history, even the Bible. Teenagers love to take out their frustrations through games, and express themselves. hell, even I love to play violent games, shoot people in the head and scream at the top of my lungs as if it was real, but I would never kill another Human Being in my whole life..Never! Its all a fantasy that we can easily get in and out of - just like watching sports, a horror movie or even a porno. This is just like Marilyn Manson, Insane Clown Posse, or Alice cooper- They are trying to ban something that is Not the cause of the Problem, just an outlet for expression and something that rocks. How many documentaries, statistics and Penn and Teller episodes do you really have to see to understand that Violent Video games DO NOT encourage Violence, and that they actually benefit managing anger and society. What makes Australia the country to be shunned out from awesomeness? Why can't we at least have the freedom of an option to purchase, play or see the Game? What is comes down to it all , I can only say is that we should have the right to have this game as much as the rest of the world, even third world countries can have it - why cant we?
