Gig Review: TEN THOUSAND

Date: April 25, 2011 - 8:00pm - 12:00pm
Venue: Cherry Bar   Melbourne-Australia
URL: http://www.myspace.com/cherrybarmelbourne
Genre: Rock Pop Metal & Covers
Members: Jay Bowen, Brandon Valentine, Marty K, Mike J Rivers, Luke McKenzie

Loud and Electrifying! As soon as the first note was strung everyone from outside of the venue rushed in and partied on. The place was jam packed and the music was energetic. Ten Thousand really went out with the stage having a fog machine, strobe and colored flashing lights. There were no technical difficulties and there were more Asian photographers than a fashion show with Godzilla, I even had to fight my way to the front row and dance to from one side to another to get great photos. These guys really had attitude and were even cool enough to hang around after the show and party with fans. The lead singer (Jay Bowen) really put emphasis on the music using body language and dancing beneath the hot stage lights. Reverbnation describes Ten Thousand as "Sin City meets Led Zeppelin", with epic stadium sized guitar riffs which I have to agree with, the crowd wanted more and were the highlight of the evening. If they ever play in your local area be sure to check them out!
Best Performed Song: "The Disease"
